Christine started dancing at the age of 4 at the local Ballet School and loved every minute of it. She progressed through the Grade and Medal Exams and took part in local shows and demonstrations. At the age of 11 she also began taking lessons in Latin and Ballroom Dancing and enjoyed both the dancing and the new friends and social side to this style of dance. As with Ballet she took Medal Test Exams with the IDTA in Latin and Ballroom dancing and progressed through the awards always looking to her peers to learn that ‘harder routine’ or gain the ‘next award’ that was just within her grasp.
Following years of dance training she passed her Associate Teaching Qualification with the IDTA in 1983 and opened her own Dance School. She continued to take her professional qualifications and achieved the position of Examiner for the IDTA in 2002.
It gives her great satisfaction and enjoyment to teach dance and pass on her knowledge and techniques to others of varying ages. All her classes are taught in a relaxed atmosphere with lots of encouragement and support. Do come along and try one of the classes – you could bring a friend too! They are a great way to get fit, meet new friends and learn an enjoyable social skill.
Christine holds a current Enhanced CRB and First Aid Certificate.
